Re: the full two pages of minutes

Compensation Practicum Meeting - September 14, 2008.
Group Supervisor: Mr. Devon Gordon-Rowe
Group members:
Phebe Warren Arlene Rose
Kerry Taffe Molly Palmer
Dawn Gyles Latoya Cameron
Colette Cummings

The meeting started at approximately 9:50 am due to miscommunication as to the exact location of the meeting.
Mr. Gordon-Rowe started the meeting by asking what had the group accomplished during the last week, he was then handed the Group Charter by the group leader Phebe Warren.
Ms. Warren explained that the group members contact information needed to be amended as Ms. Cummings was not present at the debriefing session and could not be contacted prior to this morning.
In his perusal Mr. Gordon-Rowe indicated that section which spoke to “Last Resort” need to tighten up in terms of clarity: what attributed / contributed to the person being asked to leave the group.
He also asked why the name company X was used, in the significance of the project, the group explained that we had not yet decided on which school to use for the project. A suggestion was made to use information from one of the school’s to which a group member was affiliated. On this suggestion Ms. Taffe, a teacher, indicated that it might prove difficult to obtain the necessary information from her school administration. It was then that Mrs. Dawn Gyles indicated that since she was a part of the administration at the Dinthill Technical High School the information needed to complete various areas of the project would be more accessible to her once she received the approval of the Principal.
The group decided that it would use Dinthill Technical High School and Mrs. Gyles would be the resource person, since she is employed to the institution.
Mr. Gordon-Rowe further suggested that we needed to identify the groups within the school on which we would focus.
It was decided that the focus group would be a sample size of 20 persons inclusive of their various positions and job description. The areas to be targeted are ancillary, academic and administrative.
The next question posed by Mr. Rowe related to the individual logs and whether anyone had started.
He was advised that Blog was created by Arlene and the information was sent to each group member via email. However in order to access the blog the user would need to create a Gmail account.
Mr. Gordon-Rowe asked the group to ensure that it was easily accessible to the public and himself as he would need to see the groups’ progress and make comments or suggestions where necessary.

In his analysis of the groups’ presentation, Mr. Gordon-Rowe indicated that the information presented was a very good start.
The next meeting would involve the following:
· Work Breakdown Structure: This should include all the major components of the Project.
· Gantt Chart: Detailed activities and their set time frame.
· Bibliography: Information on Compensation (General, Education & Teacher specific)
o No less than 30 sources.
Question & Answer session only one question was raised about the revising the significance of the study. The answer was Yes.
The meeting was adjourned at approximately 10:28 am.

Now i have to go and do lesson plans ciao.

Re: First week

My first on this practicum assignment got off to a slow start because of added duties at work. However I was able to settle down and find some notes on the significance of compensation. A little more meat should be added to the matter. Mr. rowe commented that it had too many bullets. This will be worked on.
